Travelers on holiday

Arrival time

Between 4 and 6 pm is perfect. In the event of late or early arrival, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can give you the best possible welcome or give you the necessary instructions for your installation.

Departure time

As a rough guide, the check-out time is before 12pm. If you plan a late check out kindly let us know your departure time, weu2019ll our best to satisfy your needs.

Reception hours during your stay

Our hours of physical presence are variable, and we juggle between vineyards, cellar, workshop, etc., but they will be posted and we are always reachable by telephone.

What languages do you speak?

English, German and French

How do I get there?

On foot, the route to Santiago de Compostela runs alongside the house, You won’t have to make any detours! From the GR5, go down to Metzeral, take the train to Turckheim, and walk for another 45 minutes.
By bike, from the international Rhine cycle route, turn off at Neuf-Brisach towards Colmar and then Katzenthal. The Vignoble cycle route passes through Katzenthal.
By car, we’re just 5 km from the Basel/Strasbourg freeway exit, and the roads are very passable in all seasons.
By train, Colmar is a TGV station from Paris. Regional train service from Strasbourg and Mulhouse (30 min.) for TGV Marseille or Frankfurt. Car and bike rental in Colmar. Cabs take 15 minutes. FLUO bus service to Katzenthal-Mairie
By air, Two airports are available: Strasbourg or Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse. Then take the shuttle to Saint Louis station and the regional train to Colmar (approx. 1h30).

Do you have a good Internet connection?

The house is connected to fiber optics and all units are wired in addition to the wifi connection. If you need to work, we recommend an RJ45 cable to ensure a regular flow of data.

Where can I shop?

You’ll be spoilt for choice. We recommend the small producers whose products you’ll find nearby, at the organic store in Ingersheim, at the Turckheim market on Fridays, in our in-house mini-grocery, at the Cellier des Montagnes in Hachimette, at the covered market in Colmar (every day). Other local shops, pharmacy, bank, spectacle shop, florist in Ingersheim, and Turckheim 2km away
You’ll find medium-sized and large supermarkets less than 4 km away.

What if we need treatment?

We can recommend nearby doctors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, dentists and veterinary surgeons. The Colmar civil hospital for specialist consultations is a 10-minute drive away. Wellness, energy and massage treatments are also available nearby.

Artists in residence

The application form

To apply: send us an application by email, presenting:
– your background and work,
– how the questions we explore here appeal to you,
– what project are you working on,
– what do you expect from the residency,
– do you have a mediation practice, and in what form,
– what are your requirements in terms of premises, equipment, duration, contacts,
– what are your preferred dates of stay,
– and anything else you’d like to enclose.

The file will be examined by the katz&co collective, who will come back to you for further information and/or to inform you of their decision.

Is the residency paid or remunerated?

Neither one nor the other.
Accommodation and facilities are provided free of charge, according to the needs expressed in your application. It’s up to you to take care of your other living expenses. We consider that applications submitted to us have a preliminary creation budget covering creation time, travel and expenses incurred for the work to be performed. A residency agreement sets out the precise terms and conditions of the residency.

I have a project for an exhibition, a performance, a reading...

This is possible under the same conditions as a residency (see the application section). What’s important to us is the coherence of the proposal made in this venue. Several spaces are available for one-off events. Please do not hesitate to contact us before submitting your application.

I'm looking for a place to offer workshops

We have hosted writing workshops, and other workshops related to the theme “Links to places can be envisaged”. Workshops are possible between April and October, and if they are paid for by the participants, a fund is set aside for the use of the site. The procedure is the same as for residencies: see the “application form” section. Contact us to discuss before sending.

I'd like to be part of the collective

The collective is open and all applications are welcome. Please do not take the application form literally, and send us an introductory message to arrange a meeting.

Tenants?

Is it an apartment or a shared room?

Both are possible, depending on availability and your preferences. The rental is always furnished. Either a fully-equipped studio, or a bedroom with bathroom in a 3-bedroom shared apartment.

Will I have an individual lease?

For rooms or studios, this is an individual short-term furnished rental agreement with services. You can therefore claim APL benefits, and you can also opt for cleaning services, bed linen and towels, and a bicycle garage if you wish.

Can I meet the other tenants?

What’s important to us is a harmonious cohabitation between the inhabitants of the place and especially between the flatmates. A meeting with the tenants present is planned, and their opinion is always taken into account in the final decision.

How do you get along with tourists and artists?

Living here presupposes that you enjoy mixing with people from different backgrounds, cultures and activities. People meet naturally in the street, the courtyard, the parking lot, the garden, but also at events organized on site, in a spirit of mutual respect.

Is internet connection included?

Yes, the fiber connection is provided by a local operator, Vialis, and box rental is included (internet and TV).

What are the charges?

An advance on charges is paid every month and includes your share of expenses for heating, hot and cold water, electricity, garbage collection and internet connection. An adjustment may be made once or twice a year, depending on rate increases or your consumption.
