Le Lézard’s exhibitions are always a great opportunity to meet local artists. This one brought together the movements of choreographer Thierry Thieû Niang, painter Vieux Niang and Thierry Thieû Niang. Around the exhibition “Olel Mayo, l’écho du fleuve” (Olel Mayo, the echo of the river), where color pulsates and ignites the Senegal River on whose banks he grew up, Thierry Thieû Niang and a dozen amateurs from three generations created a unique performance among the paintings. “Bringing Western bodies that we’re not used to seeing dancing into Vieux’s pictorial universe means bringing back our humanity,” emphasizes the choreographer. A dance resonance to celebrate the vibrations of the river.

We’ll probably have the pleasure of welcoming Thierry Thieû Niang in residence this autumn at Klur, for a journey through a different place: the vineyards of Katzenthal. Keep in touch to find out more!
